As part of our DOGOPOLY promotion, we will be heading to San Diego's Fox-6 TV for a guest appearance to talk about DOGOPOLY.

This exciting event will take place on Friday, July 11, 2003, somewhere between 7:30am and 9:00am

In addition, on Saturday July 12 and Sunday July 13, we will be at the "Families Celebrating/Familias Celebrando" Fair at Qualcomm Stadium showing off DOGOPOLYand offering fun and prize at the "Imagination Station" area along with the people from Seaworld.

Guess the Number Contest

And the results are in!

At the Fair, people could enter their names and e-mail address on a form along with their guess as to how many candy bones and how many pens were in a large plastic jar. The one closest to the number of candy bones got a free DOGOPOLY board game; closest to the number of pens got a free DOGOPOLY T-shirt. Eight others got special discounts off the purchase of a game.

First some information and statistics:

The correct number of candy bones was 2601, and pens was 118.
A bunch of people never entered their guesses! I suppose that in all the excitement of our booth, they simply forgot.
The guesses of the number of bones was off by quite a bit, while the guesses of the number of pens was quite close.
Interestingly, there were three valid entries that tied for the closes number of bones, but only one for the number of pens.
Bone guesses ranged from 8 to 32,000, while pen guesses ranged from 16 to 2890.
The average number of bones guessed was about 1794 and pens guessed was about 106.
Only about 15% guessed above the correct number of bones while 85% guessed too low! For pens, the results were similar, with about 17% guessing too high and 83% guessing too low.
Only 10% of the bone guessers came within 25% of the correct answer, while 20% of the pen guessers came within 25% of the correct answer.
